Would you like to take on a stimulating, high-impact challenge?  We are looking for an Analyst, Requirements Management. Please note that the candidate may be based in one of our 3 offices: Montreal, Toronto or Ottawa.

 

The role

 

Reporting to System Engineering Director and working closely with the Requirements Manager, this role will support the end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle by administering the project’s Requirement Management (RM) tool and ensuring that technical requirements meet organizational standards. They will act as a facilitator between technical leads and the Requirements Manager, ensuring data integrity and creating high-visibility dashboards to track the project.

 

This role requires proven proficiency and the successful candidate will actively support IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management applications, requirements-focused groups, follow up on actions and produce BI dashboards.

 

The responsibilities

 

1. Tool Administration & Data Integrity

  • Support administration of user access and roles and configure artifacts and work items.
  • Perform regular audits of the database to ensure all requirements follow the INCOSE Guide for Writing Requirements and internal quality rules.
  • Maintain traceability links between high-level project goals and lower-level technical specifications.

 

2. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Identify, flag, and resolve missing, ambiguous, or conflicting requirements by coordinating directly with technical leads.
  • Support the Requirements Manager in preparing for formal Review Meetings, reports and audits.

 

3. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Transform and model data extracted from IBM ELM to support reliable reporting.
  • Build, and maintain BI dashboards for requirements status, traceability, maturity, verification progress and identify trends, such as "Requirement Volatility" or "Verification Progress."
  • Implement clear logic for requirement states, compliance indicators, and progress metrics, ensure dashboards are aligned with project governance and decision‑making needs.

 

The requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Requirement Elicitation, Requirement Traceability Matrix, Verification and Validation, Deviation Management
  • Proficiency in a Requirements Management tool (IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management preferred) and advanced data visualization software (Power BI preferred)

 

Key Competencies

  • Proficient in IBM ELM applications and hands-on experience with requirement management tool configuration, workflow automation and link management across several project areas
  • Familiarity with systems engineering standards: IEC 15288, ISO 24748, INCOSE SE Handbook.
  • Full ownership of assigned business objectives, demonstrating accountability for outcomes and proactively driving results.
  • Demonstrates the capability to communicate and request progress updates from senior engineers with consistent professionalism and courtesy.
  • Strong analytical mindset understanding the underlying causes of data discrepancies rather than presenting figures
  • Fluency in both of Canada’s official languages is considered an asset.
