Would you like to take on a stimulating, high-impact challenge?  We are looking for an Analyst, Strategic Policy & Partnerships. Please note that the candidate may be based in one of our 2 offices: Montreal or Ottawa.

 

The role

 

The Analyst, Strategic Policy & Partnerships, will play a critical role in shaping and implementing our organization's policies and strategic initiatives. This position involves conducting in-depth analysis, supporting multiple governance committees, providing policy recommendations, and fostering collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience in the federal government, strategic thinking, and a passion for advancing our mission through effective policy development and partnership engagement.

 

The responsibilities

 

Policy Analysis and Development:

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of existing policies and emerging trends.
  • Develop and recommend policies that align with organizational goals and stakeholder needs.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

 

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Support multiple external governance committees.
  • Work closely, primarily with the Governance Lead, but as well with the management, to advance documents, decisions, through the Secretariat.
  • Work closely with Transport Canada, and other departments as necessary, on ensuring meetings are scheduled.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential partners, including government agencies, NGOs, and private sector organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop partnership proposals and strategies.
  • Conduct reviews of committee documents to ensure consistency, quality and prepare post-meeting materials, including minutes, as required.

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and external partners, ensuring alignment of objectives.

 

Project Management:

  • Participate/lead cross-functional projects related to policy implementation and strategic initiatives.

 

The requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in policy analysis, strategic partnerships, or related roles.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in federal government in a policy analysis role.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management and familiarity with relevant software/tools.
  • Knowledge of transportation policies and trends is a plus.
  • Openness to travel occasionally.
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bilingualism is considered a strong asset.
