The role
Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations, the IT Support Technician acts as the first line of support for our internal users, helping to resolve technical issues and ensuring a smooth and efficient IT experience. We are looking for a resourceful problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving network connectivity problems.
- Log and manage incidents in the IT service management system, ensuring timely resolution and escalation of issues as needed.
- Assist users with setting up and configuring IT equipment, including computers, printers, and mobile devices.
- Monitor IT systems and infrastructure to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Maintain accurate records of support activities, including incident reports and knowledge base articles.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring user satisfaction and maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions.
The requirements
- High School Diploma, degree in computer sciences or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- CompTIA A+, Microsoft: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, AZ900 or similar certifications are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Windows and iOS operating systems.
- Basic understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, and troubleshooting network issues.
- Familiarity with computer hardware components and peripherals.
- Experience with common software applications, including Microsoft M365 Office Suite and remote support tools (i.e. Quick Assist)
- Knowledge of ITIL IT service management frameworks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with users and team members.
- Being fluent in both Canadian official languages is desirable.
