Would you like to take on a stimulating, high-impact challenge?  We are recruiting for the role of Project Specialist. Two openings are available, one in our Montreal office and one in our Toronto office.

 

 

The role

 

We are seeking a skilled Project Specialist to coordinate small to medium-scale initiatives and support the project management team in managing larger projects from establishment to closure. The ideal candidate will have strong self discipline, communication, reporting, and organizational skills to ensure that activities, reports, correspondences and coordination within projects are delivered promptly.

 

The responsibilities

 

  • Support project controls team reporting and various obligations, including quarterly and monthly reports, leadership team updates, and events.
  • Coordinate and communicate with different working groups and stakeholders to gather and plan activities, identify interdependencies, report on progress, and work closely with project managers when required
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and lead the scope, objectives, and deliverables of small to medium-scale initiatives.
  • Contribute to project charters and develop project plans, budgets, and resource requirements guided by the project manager.
  • Monitor project progress and follow reporting, governance, and escalation processes as needed.
  • Facilitate risk management identification and mitigation exercises and report accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Lead or participate in post-project reviews and lessons-learned sessions.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and efficiency.

 

The requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in project management or a related field.
  • Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) (CAPM, PMOCP) or equivalent is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of at least one project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planner, Oracle Primavera).
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office. Mainly Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Should be able to design and produce high quality reports and presentations.
  • Fluency in English and/or French (Bilingual in an asset).
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and getting involved in multiple projects simultaneously.
