The role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Requirements Manager to lead the process of capturing, analyzing, and managing requirements for the High-Speed Project. The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between stakeholders, project teams, end-users, third parties and private partners ensuring that all needs and expectations are clearly defined, documented, and translated into actionable deliverables.
The responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive requirement documentation, including specifications, need & requirement statements, life cycle concepts & scenarios, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Perform requirement quality control and ensure requirements align with project objectives and overall outcomes.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between cross-functional teams, including Subject Matter Experts, project management, procurement, private partners and third parties, and quality assurance.
- Plan and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders using various techniques (interviews, workshops, surveys, etc.).
- Proactively identify and engage with relevant stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations, prepare and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Analyze and decompose complex requirements into smaller, manageable components.
- Document requirements using various formats (user stories, use cases, process flows, data models, etc.) ensuring clarity, consistency, and traceability.
- Develop and maintain a requirements traceability matrix to track requirements throughout the development process.
- Establish and maintain a robust requirements management based on System Engineering standards and best practices.
- Manage and prioritize requirements backlog, ensuring alignment with project goals and business value.
- Track and manage changes to requirements, assessing their impact and ensuring proper communication and documentation.
- Establish workflows and process automation and effectively organize, track, and manage requirements.
The requirements
- Bachelor’s degree of Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in requirement analysis, quality control, release management, product management.
- Familiarity with System Engineering standards IEC15288, ISO24748, INCOSE SE Handbook, product lifecycle, requirement development guidelines.
- Proven experience in eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and managing requirements for Mega Programs.
- Hands on experience with requirement management tools and workflows, business analysis and requirement development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to leverage data and create dashboards and executive communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- ASEP or CSEP Certification or similar qualification is a plus.
- Familiarity with Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) standards in the railway or any other industry, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).
- Experience in Mission Critical or Safety Critical domains, ideally in the Railway Industry.
- Proficiency in both of Canada’s official languages (desirable).
