Would you like to take on a stimulating, high-impact challenge?  We are looking for a Senior Advisor, Real Property Relations.

 

The role 

 

The role includes active contributions to the development and leadership of the team’s strategies, processes, and partnerships. In addition to managing external relationships, the Senior Advisor will be responsible for leading communications with Alto’s stakeholders for the landowner engagement, overseeing the preparation of land and collaborative agreements, and providing in-depth analysis and strategic reporting.  

 

Reporting to the Director Real Property Relations, the ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced expertise of the dynamics between external partners (such as municipalities, utility providers, provincial and federal government, etc.) and infrastructure or transportation project proponents, excelling in navigating complex challenges with multiple stakeholders, real property concepts and managing relations with internal and external participants. In collaboration with other team members, the Senior Advisor will lead critical components of the successful execution and delivery of the project within scope, budget, and schedule. 

 

As Alto continues to develop and establish the frameworks that will guide its deliverables and relationships with partner organizations, the Senior Advisor’s responsibilities will evolve with increased leadership in cross-functional initiatives and strategic alignment as the project reaches new levels of maturity. 

 

The responsibilities

 

  • Supporting other Planning and land acquisition directorates (urban integration; land acquisition, etc.).
  • Leading and collaborating with team members to develop strategies, processes, partnerships and land agreements.
  • Acting as a senior liaison with the Communications and Partnership team, for the coordination of communications plans and tools as well as with the organization technical team.
  • Overseeing coordination with external partners related to land matters, implementing monitoring mechanisms for landowner engagement activities and progress.
  • Preparing high-level progress reports, strategic technical documentation, and presentations for project stakeholders, including internal, external and regulatory authorities.
  • Representing the Real Property Relations team in interdepartmental meetings and strategic working groups.
  • Conducting any other work in support of the Planning and Land Acquisitions mandate.
  • Demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills in a multidisciplinary context.

 

The requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, real estate, urban planning, political science, communication, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with managing stakeholders or external partners relationships for complex projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously to meet deliverable deadlines, in accordance with project goals and objectives.
  • Proven ability to independently lead the drafting and presentation of strategic and administrative reports.
  • Being fluent in both Canadian official languages is a requirement of the position
  • Experience working in the public sector or in relation with public agencies is a plus.
  • Urban integration or planning, Communication, managing real property transactions are an asset.
