The role
We are looking for a visionary and strategic Vice President, Environment to define and drive our environmental strategy for the Project. Reporting to the Head of Strategies, Policies and Partnerships, this person will play a central role in the implementation of the high-speed rail network impact study, regulatory compliance, environmental risk management, ESG performance improvement and the implementation of sustainable practices.
The responsibilities
- Define and manage the organization's long-term environmental strategy.
- Carry out, in collaboration with the project team, the impact study.
- Oversee compliance with environmental laws, regulations and standards.
- Assess environmental risks and recommend mitigation plans.
- Represent the organization to external stakeholders.
- Work closely with other VPs to ensure a cross-functional approach.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide detailed strategic briefings and reports on the status of environmental activities and initiatives for senior management.
- Lead all regulatory processes, coordinating activities related to the production of the Environmental Impact Assessment and supporting disclosure and transparency initiatives.
The requirements
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, biology, geology or related discipline.
- Master's degree in management or environment (a strong asset).
- 15 years relevant experience, including at least 5 in a strategic management role.
- Solid understanding of climate, regulatory and ESG issues.
- Excellent communication, change management and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence at a high level and represent the company publicly.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale projects and environmental programs.
- Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written.
