The role

 

The Manager, Communications Services and Special Projects leads a team responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing communication initiatives across the organization. Responsible to deliver internal communication, communication projects and linguistic services, this role ensures the consistent positioning of the organization’s messages, proactively addresses misinformation, provides strategic guidance to business partners and contribute to the development of content that strengthens understanding, trust, and alignment among stakeholders.

 

The responsibilities

 

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of communication and linguistic advisors in the delivery of high-quality communication strategies and materials.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of communication projects that support corporate priorities, organizational changes, and business needs.
  • Provide strategic communications advice to internal partners, ensuring alignment with the company’s narrative, tone, and standards.
  • Ensure the deployment of the internal communication strategy.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of key messages that clearly position the company’s initiatives, ensuring accuracy and proactively addressing misinformation.
  • Oversee the organization of events for internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with the Media Relations team by offering support on issues management, content development, and message preparation.
  • Contribute to cross-functional planning and help maintain an integrated communications approach across internal, external, media, and digital platforms.

 

The requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or other relevant discipline (or other combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in corporate communications, including internal communications and in the preparation of various communications products.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing personnel, including direct supervision and matrix management of multidisciplinary teams or contributors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expertise in linear infrastructure projects (advantage).
  • Expertise in communication projects with Indigenous audiences (advantage).
  • Proven ability to deal with pressure and conflict calmly and professionally.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Bilingualism (French and English).
